Unsharp printed and thereby difficult to read or unreadable barcodes can interrupt the automatic control processes and cause high additional costs. Even the reading of an unreadable barcode using a portable hand held scanner leads to massive time delays, to a higher cost expenditures and queues.
A printing head in modern thermal printers can reach a temperature of more than 100 °C. Paper dust, air humidity and dust cause residues which can be burn into the surface due to the high temperatures.
Only regular cleaning can find a remedy. Cleaned thermal printing heads provide invariably sharp print layout.
